Meridian Fire Station 8 & Police Precinct 1
To support the rapid growth of Meridian, Idaho, Rice Fergus Miller and Pivot North designed a collaborative joint public safety campus featuring Fire Station 8 and Police Precinct 1.
Station 8 was designed with a residential character, featuring a gabled roof and durable composite materials that complement the surrounding neighborhood. Prioritizing firefighter health and efficiency, the station includes a fitness area with outdoor workout space, a dedicated wellness room, and a layout optimized for response times and future expansion.
The Police Precinct was designed with secure operational zones, durable materials, and shared emergency power to support department needs. Positioned further back on the site, it provides ample parking and controlled access while maintaining strong connections to the community.
Site placement was carefully planned to optimize functionality, with the fire station near the roadway for quick emergency response and the precinct set back for public access. Together, these facilities create a cohesive and efficient campus, strengthening emergency response and public safety in Meridian.
