Silverwood School
Building on a long-standing relationship with Silverwood School, Rice Fergus Miller transformed the school’s historic farmhouse into a modern, flexible learning environment. Originally used for storage and untouched for decades, this building presented challenges including structural instability, outdated infrastructure, and inefficient space planning.
HVAC and IT system updates were addressed, and classroom design features like a magnetic, dry-erase barn doors, inspired by RFM’s own office, added personality and functionality to the space. Additional improvements include a refreshed library, student podcasting studio, and flexible rooms to support a variety of learning styles and activities. The result is a creative, adaptive space that supports the school’s mission and evolving needs.
