Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy

Located near North Bend, the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy plays a critical role in preparing first responders across the state. With over 10 specialized training programs, the campus serves new recruits, volunteer and career firefighters, SWAT teams, and local law enforcement.

The overall master plan envisions a realistic urban streetscape, combining new and existing structures to create dynamic training environments. Completion of the campus will feature five new buildings—three specialized live-fire structures, a rehab and classroom building, and a storage facility—alongside the existing burn building, repurposed for non-live-fire training activities.

With advanced training props, dedicated hazmat facilities, and sustainable water recycling systems, this evolving campus strengthens Washington’s emergency response capabilities for generations to come.
